The amazing wins of the Ketchikan high school National Ocean Science Bowl teams

Ketchikan did an amazing job in this year’s competition. Saber-Toothed Salmon’s “Mitigating the Methane Output of Cattle through Feed Additives” and  The Saber-Toothed Smolts’ “When the Tide is out and the Ocean is Not Acidic, the Table is Set.”

Ketchikan took:
– 1st and 2nd in the oral presentation.
– 2nd and 3rd in the research paper.
– 1st and 2nd in overall research project.
– Quiz bowl placed 4th and 11th.

Coach Keenan Sanderson “I couldn’t be happier with the results. Being that it’s their first year, they blew away all of my expectations of them”.

Here are their video presentations:
– Saber-Toothed Salmon’s “Mitigating the Methane Output of Cattle through Feed Additives” Part 1 and Part 2.
– The Saber-Toothed Smolts’ “When the Tide is out and the Ocean is Not Acidic, the Table is Set” Video.
